It is very important that you have your kite at the right position at all times, it will give you a smooth start.
Make sure the kites stands stable on two o’clock and that you can keep the kite on this position with your left/back hand without any problems. Now run slowly towards the shore with the board in your right/front hand at the front foot strap. To keep a constant pull in the kite, run a bit into the wind.
Two meters before the shore bring your kite slowly up to half past twelve. It will help you to jump on the board and give you a bit of float when you land on the board.
Now throw your board gently a bit in to the wind in front of you, jump a bit upwind to land on your board. On this moment the kite needs to be at half past twelve and you will take off with your left/back leg to put your right/front foot next to the front foot strap. After that you need to put you left/back foot behind your back foot strap.
While you landing on the board you need to send your kite directly in the direction of three o’clock to generate some power to ride away with speed. Pay attention that you are not standing in the foot straps, so prepare for some power and don’t fall of the board when the kites gets power.
This might even be the hardest part of the whole move. Put your foot into the foot strap without falling of the board. I recommend you to first ride away a bit from the shore, so if you do fall of the board not everybody sees you.
Ride away from the shore with some good speed, so your board feels stable on the water. Shift your right/front foot against the front foot strap and make sure that your heel is against the footpad. Lift the front of your foot, you leave your heel against the footpad. Turn your foot towards the footpad and slide into your foot strap. You can do your left/back foot on the same way, or just lift your total foot up in once.
Like with almost any move, the more speed you use the easier and smoother the move will be. You need to commit the move totally from the beginning to the end and don’t forget to send your kite down when you jump on the board.
